Oxford School of Excellence (OSE)

Reputable CISCE Affiliated Day and Residential School in Dalanwala

Oxford School of Excellence (OSE), formerly known as Bala Hissar Academy (BHA) is a co-educational Day and Boarding School which was established 18th July 1983. It is situated at 5 Municipal Road, Dehradun, Uttrakhand and is operated by Bala Hissar Academy Society, a non-profit Society. It is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) based in Delhi.

The well-equipped, purpose-built infrastructure provides an ideal backdrop for a balanced and holistic cultivation and development of the young mind. At OSE we are always mindful of the ever changing demands of modern technology and we adapt our teaching methods and media to ensure children are well prepared to deal with the challenges of the future.

The school is situated in a leafy upscale residential district in the idyllic city of Dehradun. Very centrally located, the glorious garden township of Dalanwala provides a tranquil setting for the academic growth and holistic progress of students. The city of Dehradun is situated approximately 3,000 feet above sea level, in a lush valley between the Shivalik Range and the foothills of the Himalayas.

Bright, spacious and well ventilated classrooms set within a lychee orchard ensure that students learn in a pleasant and welcoming environment. The well-equipped Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer labs and Library offer an ideal opportunity for students to explore their potential and hone in on their special interests and skills. The academic session begins in early April and ends in March after the final year-end examinations.

In order to successfully complete a school year, all students are required to achieve a minimum of 40% in each subject and a minimum attendance of 75% is compulsory. The school takes the responsibility of remedial classes for students who find certain subjects more challenging and extra tuition classes are organised after regular school hours, at the school premises. Therefore, outside tuition during term time is discouraged.
